Shaped in Brooklyn by Kyle Black from Brooklyn Surf Company.
The Fibonacci is a 3/4 step-channel single fin fish.
EPS blank with epoxy 4 oz glass and a poly hot coat.
The Fractal paint swoop by Justin Cox was a tribute to the Fibonacci sequence as well as the spacing of the channels under the two main control areas of the board.
The Fibonacci sequence can be found in many places in nature but most notably for surfers it looks like a cross section of a perfect wave.
Where these parallel channels meet further towards the nose of the board they create tiny spirals that allow the board to move faster over the water.
This collab was almost a year in the making and the effort was worth it. Plenty of volume towards the nose means this board will paddle like a beast so it will suit a variety of conditions - small mushy summer waves and also 2-6ft September/October swell.
